Modern Outdoor Furniture For 2020

The 1920’s radically changed furniture design and inspired the following decades trends and designs. This Jazz Age decade inspired those to bring glamour and excitement into their homes, a major change from the traditional design to a more modern & eccentric look. Interior designers multiplied by the thousands responding to the demand to create fantasy rooms for clients to entertain lavishly with unique style.

While outdoor furniture existed before the 1920’s, the patio furniture industry has been keeping up with the trends of indoor design. Especially in Southern California, the backyard patio has become the fantasy space to host lavish dinners, cocktail parties or a personal outdoor oasis.

Now, 100 years later, these are some of the new outdoor patio collections that are inspired by the 1920’s with influences from other decades as well.

Marin by OW Lee

Marin Seating by OW Lee

The Marin collection takes inspiration from the Northern California coastal community of Marin County, located just north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Taking cues from both natural elements as well as modern design, Marin exemplifies the relaxed yet sophisticated nature of the area. Marin is a full-line collection that includes dining, deep seating and lounge options in both cushion and their patent pending Flex Comfort seating. Additionally, Marin cushioned deep seating features their Plush Comfort and Sytex Seating Systems, which creates a superior level of comfort.

Walter Lamb by Brown Jordan

Designer Walter Lamb was experimenting with materials salvaged from sunken naval ships at Pearl Harbor when he created the prototype for his iconic outdoor collection. Years later the pieces are crafted from weatherproof aluminum. The pieces are hand-wrapped with marine-grade, UV-stable cording that’s flexible enough to provide comfortable seating but strong enough to withstand the elements.

Barclay Butera Savannah by Castelle

The Savannah Collection by celebrity designer and author, Barclay Butera for Castelle is all about a lifestyle of gentility; soft bamboo touches with curated coloring, and a subtly tropical chinoiserie that could play for anyone craving pretty. With his collaboration with the artisans of Castelle, Savannah shows the softer side of Barclay Butera by celebrating radius lines using new finishes and numerous options for a bespoke custom look.
